- Start your campaign at least three weeks prior to an event to build interest
- Make sure your list is up to date. Avoid spamming – check first before you send an e-mail if you are unsure of the recipient’s willingness to accept.
- Don’t send too many repeat e-mails to the same person no matter how desperate you are to get them to an event. Prepare your message spaced out over time i.e. include gentle reminders that the event is coming up soon.
- Consider Early Bird discounts. They really do work if people have to decide quickly whether or not to avail of the discount.
- Make sure you give all details of the event i.e. who’s coming, what’s happening on the day, things they should know etc. to create anticipation.
